Hey Jurgen, my name is Muriuki and I think I might be your biggest fan,
So I decided to dedicate this poem for you, hope you respond if you can,
For years you’ve been my mentor not because you’re a brilliant manager but a great man,
You’ve taught me to always have hope even if things dont fall to plan,
Now I don’t know what to hope for because your passion is the fuel from which our success did burn.
Even if things went wrong with you it always felt right,
In times of darkness our connection became our shining light,
You gave us confidence because we knew we could always put up a comeback fight,
Trust me I wouldn’t have have traded anything for a historic Anfield night,
All I have to say is that even though times got dark with you at the helm the future always felt bright.
Its no brainer that the announcement of your departure made me feel sad,
Not only because you’re the best manager we’ve ever had,
When im old I’ll cherish the memories, whether good or bad,
The fist pump, press conferences, never forgeting the times you were mad.
It might sound strange but despite me living 4418 miles away to me you’ve always been like a dad.
Let me conclude because my watery eyes are making it difficult for me to write on my phone,
In times of my absolute adversities your speeches melted my heart of stone,
And though we didnt win more just know it didn’t matter because its our connection which shone,
Call me weird but I also plan on naming my son after you after you’re gone,
With that I can say farewell Jurgen, from Muriuki, you’ll never walk alone.
